Ukheshe is looking forward to the coming months as we extend our African and global footprint as a digital-first financial services enabler. Currently, we provide the platforms and technology that support 16 banks and fintechs, three telcos, 3,000 billers, 200,000 merchants, as well as 18 million digital wallets and four million apps combined which process millions of transactions every month.
Ultimately, payment solutions allow more people to participate in economic activity by paying and getting paid. By providing solutions that directly support financial inclusion, Ukheshe is proudly playing a part in generating economic growth, which in turn helps communities and individuals everywhere thrive.
With billions of people underserved in the developing markets, the opportunity is ripe for business models to be turned upside down by secure and reliable tech, particularly in Africa, Latin America, and South-East Asia – new territories where we are excited to apply our skills, expertise, and unique solutions.
The demand for digital services will only increase in 2021 and beyond which will provide even more opportunity for Ukheshe to further digitise payments and wallet solutions, expand relationships with leading banks, fintechs and mobile network operators, while also looking at new ways of creating and supporting alternative payment methods, especially for informal employees, gig economy workers, and small businesses. This points to the inherent understanding that it’s no longer about banking the unbanked, but rather servicing the market with relevant financial propositions.
