A Senior Finance Reporting Manager eager to join a highly disruptive start-up in a rapid growth phase and positioned to scale significantly in the coming months.

About the Role

  • Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position will be responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting.

  • The Senior Finance Reporting Manager role’s duties will include developing and maintaining accounting principles and best practices to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

  • This position implements best practices and ensures accrual general ledger and accounting methods adhere to Government Accounting Standards Board.

  • This position will review operating procedures, company controls and compliance measures to determine any potential hazards or breaches of conduct.


  • Lead the consolidation process for multiple entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Coordinate with finance teams across various departments or subsidiaries to gather financial data for consolidation.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations during the consolidation process.

Monthly Management Accounts:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

  • Analyze variances between actual performance and budgeted/forecasted figures.

  • Provide insights and explanations for key financial metrics to senior management.


  • Develop and manage the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to establish departmental budgets aligned with organizational goals.

  • Monitor budget performance throughout the fiscal year and provide recommendations for adjustments as necessary.

  • Prepare budget variance analyses and reports for management review.


  • Lead the forecasting process to predict future financial performance based on current trends and market conditions.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to gather input for forecasting assumptions and methodologies.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on forecasted financial results and potential risks/opportunities.

Margin Analysis:

  • Conduct margin analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization of profitability.

  • Analyze pricing strategies, product mix, and cost structures to enhance margins.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement margin improvement initiatives.

Way of Work:

  • Use of proper punctuation, UK English grammar, and spelling.

  • Ensure all documents, correspondence etc. are formatted correctly, are neat and accurate.

  • All activities are completed with due care and align with accuracy and quality standards.

  • Obtain necessary approvals for legal activities aligned with process.

  • Identify and / or confirm relevant timeframes / deadlines applicable to the task at hand.

Time-Sheet Management:

  • Time tracking in Jira (Tempo) completed weekly, accurate project code allocation with a min average of 8 hours per workday.

Business Risk Management:

  • Compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Complete all periodic mandatory policy and security training in accordance with Ukheshe’s guidelines.

  • Risk mindset applied and business risks actively raised to direct manager.

Additional financial related responsibilities not stipulated in the above KPIs can be

assigned to you and must be carried out with the same drive, attention to detail and diligence.

Package and Remuneration:

R 1 200 000 - R 1 500 000 Annually


  • Chartered Accountant (SA) is Mandatory.

  • 5 years’ experience in a senior reporting role (Essential).

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, consolidation, budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, SAP, Oracle).

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role preferred.
