What we are looking for

Recon Specialist

About the Role

Assist with ensuring that customers funds are accounted for by reconciling digital stores of value to the underlying pool accounts. This includes making sure that the digital transactions are reported correctly in the accounting system. 



  • Update recon models and ensure that the bank accounts reconcile to eclipse at both a total balance and transactions type level. 

  • Investigate any differences and reconcile. 

  • Any other reconciliation tasks. 



  • Update the card settlement file and process. 

  • Reconcile the card settlements to the card authorisations and investigate any differences. 

  • Ensure the settlement process is implemented for all third-party integrations. 

  • Reconcile third-party integration transactions (mark-up vs mark-off files). 

  • Any other settlement related tasks. 



  • Create and or review billing reports and submit to Finance for processing. 

  • Respond to customer billing queries. 


  • Prepare journal entries to align Eclipse and the accounting system. 

  • Reconcile Eclipse and the accounting system and resolve any differences. 



  • Any other tasks that ensure the success of Financial Operations within the business. 

  • Support Finance where required with general admin tasks. 


Customer Satisfaction: 

  • Measures the satisfaction level of internal stakeholders or business units that rely on the accuracy and timeliness of reconciliations.  

  • Feedback and surveys will be used to measure the satisfaction. 


Time-Sheet Management: 

  • Time tracking in Jira (Tempo) completed weekly, accurate project code allocation with a min average of 8 hours per workday. 


Business Risk Management: 

  • Compliance with company policies and procedures. 

  • Complete all periodic mandatory policy and security training in accordance with Ukheshe’s guidelines. 

  • Risk mindset applied and business risks actively raised to direct manager. 

Way of Work: 

  • Use of proper punctuation, UK English grammar and spelling. 

  • Ensure all documents, correspondence etc. are formatted correctly, are neat and accurate. 

  • All activities are completed with due care and align with accuracy and quality standards. 

  • Obtain necessary approvals for legal activities aligned with process. 

  • Identify and / or confirm relevant timeframes / deadlines applicable to the task at hand. 


What you need to succeed: 

  • A formal qualification in accounting (or related) will be advantageous. 

  • Expert Excel skills. 

  • 3 – 4 years of experience in General Finance. 

  • Accounting/financial knowledge. 

  • Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills. 

  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organisational skills. 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information. 

  • Accuracy, speed and efficiency of transactional processing and reporting. 

  • External Stakeholder service delivery and satisfaction. 

  • Implementation of change through projects and initiatives is measured in terms of budget, time, and scope. 

  • Planning deadline dates and adherence to these. 

  • A team player with a flexible approach.
