About the Role
Role Purpose
As the Human Resources Operations Manager at Ukheshe, you will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the HR department for the Ukheshe Group of Companies. You will collaborate with leadership, HR team members, and various departments to ensure effective and efficient development and implementation of HR processes, policies, and initiatives. Your role is pivotal in creating a positive and productive work environment, fostering employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations. You will be responsible for leading, managing and controlling HR operations and Team.
HR and Process Management:
Design, implement, and optimize HR processes, policies, and procedures in collaboration with HR team members and leadership.
Oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance management and offboarding.
Recruitment and Onboarding:
Lead recruitment efforts by working closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, conduct job interviews, and manage the selection process.
Develop and manage an efficient onboarding process that ensures new employees integrate smoothly into the organisation.
Employee Relations:
Handle employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies.
Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication and addressing employee needs.
Performance Management:
Implement and manage performance appraisal processes, providing guidance to managers on performance reviews and feedback.
Identify professional development opportunities and support career growth initiatives for employees. Support execution of PDP (Personal Development Process) and identify professional development needs on organisational and departmental level based on PDP results.
Benefits and Compensation:
Collaborate with finance and leadership to manage employee compensation, benefits programs, and rewards systems.
Keep abreast of industry trends to ensure the organization remains competitive in terms of compensation and benefits.
Compliance and Legal Matters:
Stay updated on labour laws and regulations to ensure the organization's HR practices are in compliance.
Manage documentation related to HR processes, contracts, and legal requirements.
Monitor HR process compliance and standards.
HR Analytics and Reporting:
Compile and analyse HR metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving HR operations and employee engagement.
Generate regular reports for management and other Stakeholders, highlighting key HR performance indicators.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and provide guidance to HR team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
Time-Sheet Management:
Time tracking in Jira (Tempo) completed weekly, accurate project code allocation with a min average of 8 hours per workday.
Business Risk Management:
Compliance with company policies and procedures.
Complete all periodic mandatory policy and security training in accordance with Ukheshe’s guidelines.
Risk mindset applied and business risks actively raised to direct manager.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Proven experience (5+ years) in human resources operations or a similar role, preferably in the technology or fintech industry.
Strong understanding of labour laws, regulations, and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in HR software and tools for recruitment, performance management, and data analysis.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capability to effectively manage a team.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex and sensitive situations.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation.
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Knowledge of Labour legislation, CCMA procedures, and Codes of Good Practice.

Conflict Resolution: HR operations can involve managing conflicts between employees or between employees and management. Effective conflict resolution skills are essential to maintain a harmonious work environment.
Ethics and Trust: Handling sensitive employee information and making decisions that affect employees' well-being requires a strong sense of ethics and integrity.
